Our welsh wizard, Alan Price, tells us that a 39lb mirror and a 37lb mirror plus a couple of mid twenties have come from the River Wye at Hereford, all to barbel anglers. We have been hearing reports of big carp being seen through the town stretch for years, but no confirmed captures until now. The fishing is £6 for a day ticket available from local tackle shops.
Alan Price and Paul Thomas fished the birch syndicate in Newport last weekend, Alan had a 19lb
common and a 25lb pike on a chod rig with a
monster squid flouro pink pop up while Paul caught 3 fish to 23lb 8oz on monster squid.
